2025 Hybrid Car Launch: Toyota and Maruti Unveil a 7-Seater Hyryder

By 2025, Maruti Suzuki and Toyota intend to introduce three brand-new hybrid vehicles to the nation: a 7-seater Toyota Grand Vitara, a 7-seater Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and a facelifted Maruti Suzuki Fronx.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Facelift

The Fronx, a well-known small SUV from Maruti Suzuki, will be revamped and will come equipped with Maruti’s brand-new hybrid powertrain. According to its HEV promises, fuel economy should exceed 35 km per litre. A 1.2-liter 3-cylinder engine, a smaller battery, and an electric motor are available options for Fronx. The most recent version makes it possible for the engine to recharge the battery while the vehicle is in motion, resulting in a remarkably smooth hybrid ride. New models including the Swift Hybrid, Baleno, and next-generation Brezza will also be powered by it.

The Fronx makeover, which will come with ADAS features—a first for Maruti on this technology—will always prioritise safety. While features like Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning will continue to be available on the Fronx, the basic bundle of Level 1 ADAS will continue to be available.

7-Seater Grand Vitara

The Grand Vitara 7-seater vehicle, which is scheduled for release in 2025, will provide more space than the previous model that used hybrid technology, allowing it to securely transport more passengers to their intended locations. It has a rich safety badge since it was created on the Global C platform. As is customary, Maruti Suzuki ensures continuity by releasing a new version of the same. Both mild and strong hybrid versions will be available, and the flagship model is probably going to have greater power thanks to a new, enhanced hybrid version.

The Grand Vitara from Maruti may have ADAS as part of global efforts to improve handling safety. The market variants of the seven-seater car are probably going to include both manual and automatic gearbox options.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder 7-Seater

Built on the Grand Vitara chassis, this newly developed Toyota 7-seater, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, would be produced at Maruti Suzuki’s future Kharkhoda plant in Haryana. Because it can accommodate a third row of seats and an enlarged wheelbase, this vehicle will be put into production in 2025, making it a 5+2 seater for families. Hyryder will offer two powertrain options that offer a reasonable mix between power and fuel efficiency: a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle strong-hybrid unit and a 1.5-liter mild-hybrid unit.

The 7-seater Hyryder will have a robustly constructed bonnet, more pronounced and angular LED headlamps, and a sharp front chrome grille with the Toyota brand symbol. It is anticipated that the side profile will show off longer rear doors and bigger wheels, exposing a lot of space, while the back will show off a new bumper and revised tail lamps. It is anticipated that the model would include ADAS, which offers essential safety features to ensure a completely safe driving experience.

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota collaborated to create the Fronx, Grand Vitara, and Hyryder, which are designed to spearhead India’s shift to hybrid cars and prioritise space, safety, and fuel economy.
