Four More Big TV Brands Join Freely Smart TV Service

Freely, a recently launched smart TV provider in the UK, has revealed that over the course of 2024, its all-streaming platform will be accessible on TVs from four more brands.

Without requiring a subscription, the Freely service is made to offer all the advantages that streaming can offer the world of free TV viewing (such as the ability to seamlessly switch between live and on demand TV, pause and resume TV shows and live streams, and instant access to additional episodes, among other things). But up until today’s announcement, Bush and Hisense UK TVs were the only ones where Freely was accessible (since April). It is with great pleasure that UK consumers can now confirm that the cutting-edge new service will also be available on new TVs from Metz, Toshiba, Sharp, and Panasonic.

Quantum Dot technology, which improves color performance, native 4K resolution, and Dolby Atmos sound are all features that Toshiba’s latest Freely compatible TVs include. Sharp, on the other hand, plans to include Freely into the upcoming G4K and GM6 series of 4K TVs; the latter will be the first to support Quantum Dot color, alongside the Toshiba models.

By bringing the streaming service to nearly every model in its 2024 TV lineup—including OLED, QLED (Quantum Dot again), and entry-level LED models—Panasonic is going big on Freely. Several of these Panasonic models—especially the OLED ones—will undoubtedly rank among the most expensive TVs that the Freely service has ever been offered on.

Finally, German firm Metz, which has only lately entered the UK market, is expecting that its extensive selection of 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch TVs with freestanding features would significantly boost its UK business endeavors. The premium Quantum Dot system, which replaces traditional filter technology in Metz’s Freely LCD TVs, is confirmed to produce colors. Additionally, the TVs will support Dolby Atmos sound and Dolby Vision, a high dynamic range picture technology that adds extra scene-by-scene picture information to help compatible TVs present their HDR pictures more effectively.

Regarding the most recent TV brand expansion, Deep Halder, Chief Commercial Officer of Everyone TV, the BBC/ITV/Channel 4/Channel 5 backed company that spearheaded the roll out of Freely, said the following: “Having recently brought Freely to market on new Hisense and Bust TVs, we’re delighted to be announcing increased availability of Freely with four new Smart TV partners due to launch later this year. A joint venture between Britain’s leading broadcasters, Freely is built on collaboration and it is encouraging to see more of the industry coming together to contribute to the success of Freely, working together to secure the future of free TV.”
