Tesla introduces the Updated Quicksilver for the Model 3 in the US

Now that Quicksilver is an option for the all-electric sedan, Tesla has debuted a new colour for the Model 3.

Since European owners of the Model Y and Model 3 can choose to have their vehicle painted in Quicksilver, the colour has been offered for purchase in other regions for a number of years.

The Quicksilver colour was limited to the Model Y when Tesla first introduced it to the US market earlier this year.

Officially, Tesla has introduced the Model 3 in Quicksilver.

In a promotional email released on Friday, shortly after the color’s introduction, Tesla characterises the colour as follows:

“With metallic highlights and dark undertones, Quicksilver is a dynamic, multi-coat paint that offers a liquid metal effect that accentuates the curves of Model 3.”

Together with the Ultra Red, which costs $2,000, this colour is now the most costly one that Tesla provides.

Giving clients more colour options is something Tesla has done quite well. Along with introducing Quicksilver and Ultra Red to the US market, it also chose to change the default free colour available to drivers.

Following reports of an increase in white automobiles, Tesla altered the basic colour from white to black.
