2525 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, including an improved Drift Function and A more Standard Kit, was Launched in Korea

In response to consumer input, Hyundai debuted a number of changes for the 2025 Ioniq 5 N in Korea, improving the performance-focused EV’s usability and appeal. In contrast to the departing model, Hyundai implemented software-derived enhancements and increased the number of standard features, but there are no mechanical or visual modifications.

The improved “N Drift Optimiser” system, which now offers 10 adjustable stages of drift assistance appropriate for varying driving skill levels, is the standout feature of the model year update. According to Hyundai, the technology is now more adept at detecting and assessing drift circumstances, making it more efficient.

To enable the driver to “drift more freely,” the final stage, dubbed Pro, reduces the effect of the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and linearly modifies torque. As with many drift-related systems in contemporary cars, this one should obviously only be used on the racecourse.

This version of the “N e-Shift” feature, which previously only worked in Normal, Sport, and N modes, now includes an Eco mode as well as virtual gear shifts. It also got “downshift memory” and “downhill assist” features, the latter of which acts similarly to ICE-powered vehicles’ engine braking.

The “N Launch Control” system’s preparatory sound, which is constantly on even when “N Active Sound +” is turned off, is a less noticeable modification.

Last but not least, the 2025 MY saw an improvement to the Ioniq 5 N’s standard equipment, which now includes features like intelligent headlamps, a walk-away lock function, interior V2L, second-row safety windows, and a vibration warning on the steering wheel.

When the N Grin Boost is engaged, the EV’s dual electric motor configuration continues to produce up to 641 horsepower (478 kW / 650 PS) and 770 Nm (568 lb-ft) of torque. The larger 84 kWh battery pack that was recently added to the facelifted Ioniq 5 range was already available for the Ioniq 5 N.

In Korea, the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N starts at ₩77,000,000 ($57,678), which includes the tax benefit for environmentally friendly cars. It’s likely that other markets will soon receive the new improvements.
