5 Upcoming Volkswagen Automobiles and SUVs with Release Dates

Over time, Volkswagen India has significantly reduced the number of cars in its inventory.

ID.4

This will be Volkswagen’s first electric car in India. The ID.4 crossover, which the company formally unveiled earlier this year, is anticipated to make its Indian debut by the end of 2024. It will not be inexpensive because it will be marketed as a CBU. As of right now, Volkswagen intends to introduce the ID.4 in ten cities nationwide.

Volkswagen’s proprietary MEB architecture serves as the foundation for the ID.4 model. 52 kWh and 77 kWh battery packs are available for the crossover abroad. It is anticipated that Volkswagen would introduce the larger battery model to the Indian market.

Taigun Facelift

For over two years, the mid-size SUV Taigun has been available for purchase. This small SUV needs a makeover, and it appears like Volkswagen will be doing so shortly. Many individuals have been criticising about the Taigun’s limited feature set in comparison to its competitors.

With the facelift, Volkswagen might be able to fix this problem. More technologies like Level 2 ADAS and a panoramic sunroof, which are now standard in this market, are anticipated to be included in the revised Taigun.

Virtus Facelift

The Virtus sedan is set for a facelift, just as the Taigun. Along with new technologies like ADAS and a panoramic sunroof, the Virtus will also get cosmetic upgrades. The 1.0-liter and 1.5-liter TSI engines will still be available in the sedan’s mechanical configuration. It is anticipated that the Virtus makeover would debut in mid-2026.

Tayron

The Tayron SUV is Volkswagen’s upcoming introduction in India. The Tiguan Allspace will be replaced by this SUV, which has seven seats. It is anticipated to launch by the end of 2025 and will be available as a completely knocked down unit, or CKD. The Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq will be rivals of the Tayron.

Although the SUV comes with a range of powertrain options abroad, the Indian version is most likely to have a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with all-wheel drive.
