With a starting price of 199,900 yuan (28,100 USD), the Changan Nevo E07 crossover has made its debut in the Chinese market. Both EREV and BEV versions are on the market. However, its primary attribute is its capacity to morph. With a single button press, it can change from an SUV to a pickup truck.

Qiyuan is the Chinese name for Changan Nevo, a relatively new brand. The production of new energy vehicles is its main objective. The majority of its model line consists of Changan brand PHEV or EV versions of ICE vehicles (such as the Nevo Q05, Nevo A05, or Nevo A06).

Briefly on Changan Nevo E07

A mid-to-large crossover with a unique design language is the Changan Nevo E07. Rectangular headlamps on the front end are connected by an interactive block. Two LiDAR sensors are included inside the Nevo E07’s front bumper. Additionally, it features glossy plastic trim around the lower body and broad wheel arches.

The Changan Nevo E07 has a wheelbase of 3120 mm and dimensions of 5045/1996/1640 mm. It has a loading bed and a low roofline, so even with its amazing size, there are only two rows of seats inside. The drag coefficient of the Nevo E07 is 0.237 Cd. For a car of that size, it is a respectable figure. It is marginally superior to the Tesla Model X’s drag coefficient.

The Changan Nevo E07’s interior features a simple design devoid of a traditional instrument panel. The 28.86-inch head-up display took its place. Behind a three-spoke steering wheel is the Nevo E07’s gear changer. This vehicle also has a huge 15.4-inch floating screen. In place of a sun visor, the Nevo E07’s front passenger sports an optional display.

Changan Nevo E07 Powertrain

There are EREV and BEV powertrain options available for the Changan Nevo E07. The 1.5-liter ICE in the extended-range model produces 105 kW (141 horsepower). It functions as a generator without giving the wheels any torque. The base Nevo E07 has a single 231 kW (310 horsepower) e-motor in the back axle. The 4WD version has a 131 kW (176 horsepower) extra electric motor in the front axle. With a 39.05 kWh battery capacity, the CLTC range is between 185 and 200 km.

A single e-motor producing 252 kW (338 hp) at the back axle powers the Changan Nevo E07, an entry-level all-electric vehicle. Additionally, the 4WD version produces 440 kW (590 horsepower). It takes 3.96 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. With a capacity of 70 and 90 kWh, the battery pack can go 551–701 kilometres on a single charge. The Nevo E07 also has a continuous dampening system and air suspension.
