The Tang DM-i model year 2025, which comes with the DM 5.0 PHEV technology, was introduced by BYD. Instead of being a brand-new Tang, the vehicle is an improvement over the current model.

Naturally, the new powertrain is the biggest modification. This makes use of the more potent DM 5.0 technology, which is based on the 1.5 T BYD472ZQB engine with a maximum output of 115 kW. It is coupled with the EHS200 electric hybrid system, which has a maximum output of 200 kW, and has a thermal efficiency of 45.3%.

A 21.504 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack using BYD’s blade battery powers the 2025 Tang. Its combined range is 1,150 km, while its all-electric range is 115 km. It uses 4.95 litres of fuel per 100 km.

Externally, not much has changed; the wheelbase is 2820 mm and the dimensions stay at 4870/1950/1725 mm. The primary characteristic that sets the 2025 year apart is the blackening of the majority of the chrome-used front sections. To enhance the look, it is an option to blacken the chrome elements on the sides. The branding on the tailgate is now black instead of chrome, and the rear gets a new thru taillight design that incorporates traditional Chinese knot features. Weiyang grey, a new colour, has been added for the year 2025.

The car’s interior features a 12.3-inch instrument panel, a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, and an intelligent cockpit called DiLink 100. The flat bottom of the steering wheel is double-spoke. There are versions with six or seven seats.

The Tang should improve driving comfort because to its lightweight high-end chassis, FSD variable damping, and BYD Disus C suspension system.
