On December 4, Honda Cars India plans to introduce the third-generation Honda Amaze to the nation. The tiny sedan’s designs, created at Honda’s R&D Asia Pacific division in Thailand, have now been made public by the automaker.
In India, Honda only sells three models: the Amaze small car, the City medium-sized sedan, and the Elevate mid-sized SUV. The new Honda Amaze will compete with the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
It is evident from the design concepts that the 2019 Honda Amaze will have a reworked grille with LED headlamps on either side, similar to those on the Honda Elevate. The Z-shaped LED taillights on the back will resemble those already seen in Honda City. Additionally, new alloy wheels will be available. Even though the Honda Amaze has always been a stylish vehicle, its new design may make it look even better.
Significant improvements will be made to the 2018 Honda Amaze’s cabin, including a reworked dashboard and streamlined air conditioning vents. A brand-new standalone touchscreen infotainment system will be available. There will be new audio and call controls on the steering wheel. The automobile will be equipped with technologies like cruise control, wireless charging, and automated climate control, among others. We anticipate six airbags as well.
The 1.2-liter 4-cylinder SOHC i-VTEC petrol engine (90PS and 110Nm) from the previous generation will still power the new Honda Amaze. CVT automatic and 5-speed MT will be available as gearbox options.
The new Honda Amaze is anticipated to cost between Rs 7.25 lakh and Rs 10.10 lakh (ex-showroom), whereas the previous model is priced between Rs 7.19 lakh and Rs 9.95 lakh.
In 2013, Honda introduced the first-generation Amaze to the Indian market. 2018 saw the release of the second-generation model. With a market share of more than 61%, the Dzire dominates the compact sedan market, which is where the Amaze is based.
