2026 Kia Syros EV India Launch: Key Features

The South Korean carmaker’s newest sub-4-meter SUV in India is the Kia Syros. The model is scheduled to be on public exhibit at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show in January after making its world debut lately. In February, its prices will be revealed. The Kia Syros EV, which will be the company’s first mass-market electric vehicle and be priced below Rs 15 lakh, has been confirmed to go on sale.

The Mahindra XUV400 and Tata Nexon EV will compete with the electric Syros after it is introduced. According to reports, Hyundai, Kia’s sister company, is developing a new mass-market EV that will likely be based on the Hyundai Exter.

Kia Syros EV – What to Expect?

The Hyundai-Kia K1 platform, which is also utilised by the ICE-powered Syros and Hyundai Exter, is probably going to serve as the foundation for the next electric Syros. This architecture was created and built for subcompact entry-level cars. In 2018, it replaced the previous SA platform with the second-generation Hyundai Santro. Indeed, the K1 platform has been used to construct the global-spec Hyundai Exter EV, which is anticipated to reach India in the upcoming years.

Two battery options are available for the Exter EV worldwide: a 92bhp, 42kWh unit and a 115bhp, 49kWh unit. The larger battery pack claims a range of 355 km, while the smaller one claims a range of 300 km. The Kia Syros EV is anticipated to feature the same powertrains.

It will resemble its ICE cousin in the majority of features and design components. Accordingly, the next Kia electric SUV will come equipped with a number of cutting-edge features, such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, wireless phone charging, a rear-view camera, more. The outside of the Syros EV may possibly have certain EV-specific design features.

It is anticipated that the Kia Syros EV would reach India in 2026. Prior to this, sometime in the upcoming year, the South Korean carmaker will launch the Kia Carens EV.
