Majette Grapplers Perform Well at Border Brawl, Finishing in Second Place

Over the weekend, the Minot High girls wrestling team placed second at the third annual Border Brawl in Ashley, North Dakota, demonstrating their talent, strength, and determination.

With a team score of 199, Dickinson earned their first-ever team title at the event, while Minot High finished in second place with a score of 169.5. Four additional teams from the Western Dakota Association (WDA) were also present.

Majette Ella Brown finished first in the 100-pound division with a 3-0 record. Teammate Brookln Ost, who placed second with a 2-1 record during the meet, faced her for the crown.

Madisyn Racine finished first for the Majettes at 118 and went 3-0. Maycee Boyce won the competition with a score of 155, going 2-0 for Minot High. With a 3-0 run at 250 for the event, Jade’ence Fletcher completed the Majettes’ first-place finishers.

Monica Boakye, who scored 3-1 for Minot High, came in second at 106. Khylie Schlotz finished third with a 4-1 record at 112. Claire Fegley finished third in the competition with a 3-1 record at 148. Payton Russell also played for Minot High, going 2-2 and finishing fourth at 136.

The Majettes will return to the mat on January 2 at the Rumble on the Red after taking the holidays off.
