The current year’s Oscars will be held without an official host – for the first time in 30 years.

The head of ABC Entertainment, which affectation the Academy Awards ceremony , said it would rather feature celebrities showing the trophies.

Reports had recommended the supporter was attempting to fill the job – one of the hardest in US show business.

In December, Comedian Kevin Hart hauled out from hosting the function following a discussion over homophobic tweets.

He said he would not like to be a distraction and that he was “sorry he had hurt people”.

ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke said the function on 24 February in Los Angeles would renounce a host and “just have presenters host the Oscars”.

The choice was taken after Hart’s withdrawal, she said.

Ms Burke included that “the mystery” hanging about this year’s event “has been compelling”, demonstrating that watchers were quick to watch it.

Various Academy Awards ceremony have had no host. In the last such case – an exceedingly dubious occasion in 1989 – producer Allan Carr settled on the choice so as to prepare for greater celebrity moderators.

The job of securing the Oscars has hurled issues for various hosts from that point forward. The Hollywood Reporter has portrayed it as “the least wanted job in Hollywood”.

The debate about Hart’s tweets comes following a troublesome couple of years for the Academy that have seen Envelopegate, the OscarsSoWhite campaign and the scrapping of a proposed popular film award category.
