Even though James Cameron’s Avatar franchise made its big-screen premiere in 2009, it still makes headlines today. Avatar: The Way of Water, the follow-up, debuted in 2022 and was just as successful as its predecessor. As a result, there is now more anticipation than ever for its third installment. The 2025 release of Avatar 3, also known as Avatar: Fire and Ash, will introduce viewers to the Red Navi civilisation while also successfully extending the already established Pandora environment.
Pandora’s red Na’vi people featured in Avatar 3 concept art
The recently made public pictures gave fans a preview of what the Red Navi people would be like in the next Avatar 3. Their ashy environment and apparently intelligent airships were also featured in the clips.
The first concept art for Avatar: Fire and Ash was unveiled by the film’s creative team at the just-finished D23 conference in Brazil. Five photos in all, exhibiting fresh perspectives of Pandora’s hitherto undiscovered surroundings, were released during the announcement. One of the aforementioned conceptual images showed an ashy landscape that would ostensibly be the Red Na’vi people’s habitation in Avatar 3.
Specialised flying species were also included in the Avatar 3 concept art, showcasing their distinctive look in all its splendour.
The current release date for Avatar: Fire and Ash is December 19, 2025.
