HBO is in “early development” on a Game of Thrones sequel series focused on the character Jon Snow. It’s a live-action series, and Kit Harrington is connected to reprise the role that made him recognized.
The series will be set after the events of Game of Thrones, making it the first sequel out of the something like eight Game of Thrones spin-offs HBO has being developed. Jon Snow, a heroic outcast who found he was an expected successor to the Iron Throne, was most recently seen exiled and joining the leftover Free Folk to resettle the free lands north of the Wall.
Proceeding with his story is a significant and unsafe move. Making prequel series that investigate the laid out legend of Westeros accompanies not so much stuff but rather more aide rails than moving the narrative of much-cherished characters forward — particularly after fans’ responses to Game of Thrones’ decision were, most definitely, blended.
Beside House of the Dragon, set 200 years sooner and because of debut on Aug. 21, HBO is supposed to be creating three all the more true to life prequel series set in Westeros: The Sea Snake, about the extraordinary sailor Corlys Velaryon, who shows up in House of the Dragon; Ten Thousand Ships, set 1,000 years sooner and recounting the tale of Princess Nymeria, who established Dorne; and a series set only 90 years before Game of Thrones, adjusted from George R. R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas.
The Hollywood Reporter likewise figures three energized prequel series are being developed, including The Golden Empire, set in the place that is known for Yi Ti.
There’s no assurance that any of these ventures bar House of the Dragon will arrive at the screen. In 2019, HBO got similarly as shooting a pilot for one prequel series featuring Naomi Watts, prior to dropping it.
