Google Begins To Distribute The Android 14 QPR2 Beta 2 Release

The latest Quarterly Platform Release (QPR2) from Google features the release of Beta 2, marking the continuation of the Android 14 journey. This update, which arrived earlier than anticipated, addresses a few faults affecting the Pixel phones and Pixel Folder in addition to improving stability.

The second beta of Android 14 QPR2 is now out!

The customary preview programme for QPR2 and the Pixel Feature Drop was anticipated to begin this month, following the December release of QPR1. However, Google took the internet by storm when it announced the programme ahead of schedule, releasing a patch shortly after the November preview.

Although QPRs are technically betas, they are regarded as reasonably stable and appropriate for everyday use. All Pixel models, ranging from the 5a to the 8 Pro, are receiving Beta 2, which comes with the build number AP11.231117.006. The most recent December security patch is also included.

There are some fixes in the Beta 2! The following has been discussed:

Resolved a problem where the system settings occasionally displayed inaccurate battery use statistics. (Page #312121998)
Fixed a bug where, in always-on display mode, the fingerprint icon would occasionally appear on the lock screen before other information had loaded. (Page 311265905 of the issue)

Resolved a bug that occasionally resulted in the biometric prompt crashing and being discarded before the user could interact with it.
Resolved a problem wherein, on occasion, the Internet Quick Settings tile might show as unavailable even if the device was linked to a Wi-Fi network.

Go to Settings > System > Software updates and select “System update” to get the most recent QPR 2 Beta 2 update. If your device is compatible, the download will start on its own.
