New features on Google Chrome
Google unveiled five new features for iOS and Android smartphones in a blog post. Additional Chrome Actions for local searches are included. Users now have three additional options when searching for local companies, like calling up a restaurant: Call, Directions, and Reviews. According to Google, iOS users will be able to access this feature later this year. It is now available on Android.
Google’s Material You design language has been incorporated into the redesign of the address bar on tablets. The user will still be able to access the website through a new drop-down menu while conducting searches. It’s also claimed that the shortcut recommendations have been enhanced with the user’s typing patterns in mind. According to Google, it will now assist users in navigating to a website by using their typical search terms as a guide.
Google has introduced Trending Searches to iOS, a function that has been present on Android smartphones since 2023. Now, all users need to do is hit an empty URL bar to view a list of popular queries. Choosing a trending search will display other searches pertaining to that subject.
Additionally, live sports cards are now available on the Discover feed. If they have already searched for it, users can utilise this tool to receive automatic updates and catch up on the performance of their favourite sports teams. According to Google, you may also configure this function by going to the three-dot menu.
