Google Docs’ Most Recent Release Adds 40 New Templates

Google has included 40 new templates in its most recent feature dump for Google Docs, its online word processor. It is a set of pre-built pageless templates meant to accommodate many types of material, including journals, press releases, blog entries, and more.

Nearly a month has passed since Google updated the Google Slides template library, and now these new Google Docs templates are available. The “Template” button at the top of a freshly produced document gives users access to them. If not, they can go to File > New > Select a template from the gallery, which is the longer route.

In a blog post, the search engine giant clarified that the templates can be used for a variety of purposes. For example, the reading list and class notes templates are available to education users. Business users can find templates to make sales emails, marketing plans, and project roadmaps in the interim.

Users can save time by using templates instead of creating a document from scratch and spending time formatting it. According to Google, users may anticipate further template possibilities in the upcoming months as the new collection of Google Docs templates has begun to roll out.

All users with personal Google accounts, Workspace Individual Subscribers, and Google Workspace customers will have access to the new templates. According to the corporation, their distribution will be completed in roughly two weeks.

With the most recent upgrade, Google Docs templates have been around for ten years. In September 2015, the functionality was made available for Docs, Slides, and Sheets. A few months later, it was added to the corresponding iOS and Android applications.

Speaking of new features, Google Docs now introduced the “Help me create” option, which uses Gemini to create formatted and customised papers. Additionally, the generative AI chatbot can create unique Google Docs inline pictures and covers, enabling users to play with watercolour and other photo-realistic art forms.
