A career in the fashion industry, to recent grads or career-switchers can seem like an elusive dream only for the privilege, polished experienced elite. But this couldn’t be futher from the truth. With the right attitude and work ethics, anyone at any age can break into the fashion industry just as Saim Ali did.
Saim Ali, a Lahore-based actor has been in the showbiz industry since nine years. Saim started his career as a fashion designer since he grew up in an atmosphere of colours, fabrics and threads all around him as his mother Farah Gillani was a designer herself. “I got my formal training in fashion designing from Dubai. I was doing pretty well but then, after few years I decided to follow my passion which is acting.
He was in the designing field only because of his mother who wanted him to follow suite.
Now he’s a full-blown actor.
Saim Ali started his career in acting with drama serial “here” for GeoTV in 2015. He also hosted a morning show for a private channel with actress Noor the same year. Ali’s big breakthrough came when the actress Noor Burkhari asked him to appear on the morning show “good morning Zindagi on A-plus channel with her. Sometimes they would spontaneously break into dance and the show became such a big hit that it would regularly garner a 100+ rating for the channel.
One particular steamy dance routine of him went viral and he developed a considerable fan based, comprising both men and women.
Seeing the reaction, Noor who was directing and starring in a movie called Ishq Positive asked him to do a comeo in it.
He gives credit to shaista Lodhi for introducing him to TV. These days Saim is working on a fashion burney’s project- Turn Kaisi Aurat Ho. Saim Ali is soft spoken, cultured and intelligent, its always a pleasure meeting him.
