New York City is home to all the glitz and glamor one could imagine. The city has a glimmering nightlife that is fueled by the DJs who run the scene. DJ Beyond grew up in Manhattan and got a first-hand experience of this life. He has performed at some of the hottest locations that include Webster Hall, Best Buy Theater, The Times Center, Time Warner Building, Limelight, La Marina, Copacabana, and Stonewall.
The DJ has experience working on television as he has appeared on MTV’s Wild n Out, WE TV’s Bridezilla, BET’s Rap City, and VH1’s Love & Hip Hop. It becomes obvious that doing a show on Netflix may be on top of his to-do list for now.
“I loved the time spent working in front of a camera. I’d always be willing to do it again. Television is starting to die out and people don’t sit and watch TV anymore. My aim would be to work in a web series for a streaming service like Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Hulu. Most of the dynamics are the same as television and I am much aware of how things work there,” says Damian Perez, better known as DJ Beyond.
All the years of experience have equipped the young DJ enough to not only work in a show but also make his own. DJ Beyond is the co-founder of BeyondRest Entertainment. His company arranges all sorts of events and has been in the market for some time now. Being a company that is originally from New York and mostly operates there, it must be well aware of how things are run in showbiz.
DJ Beyond adds, “Thankfully I know many artists and have arranged several events for them. Many of these have been related to television shows. I feel that I have all the skills, talent, and experience to even make my show. If I were ever to do that, it would be sort of a documentary about how things go down in my side of Manhattan. The lives of many other self-made people like myself will be showcased.”
Over the years, Damian Perez has worked with many celebrities A-listers like Ne-Yo, Ariana Grande, Lizzo, and others.
One very significant thing to know about DJ Beyond is his determined and steady work ethic. He does not like to have his hands in multiple pies but aims to master one thing at a time. It is evident in the fact that he has won the Best Blend DJ award by Urban Mixx Awards and was also nominated for the Best Duo & Blend DJ in the Justo’s Mixtape Awards. All this shows that if DJ Beyond plans to make his own Netflix show or even star in one, he will give it all he has. We will be sure to see a masterpiece.
