In the ongoing International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Junior World Championship, the Indian junior shooting team demonstrated their depth of talent once again when Mukesh Nelavalli, Raajwardan Patil, and Harsimar Singh Rattha won the team competition in the junior men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol (RFP). This was their eleventh gold medal overall.
In addition, Mukesh won four gold medals overall, including one gold for himself.
India continues to have a commanding lead in the medal standings, having won 16 medals overall with four silver and four bronze. With three gold and one silver, China came in second.
Mukesh and Raajwardan also made it to the individual final in the RFP, however, the latter finished fourth with 17 hits in the first six series of shots, while Mukesh bowed out earlier in fifth, getting 10-hits out of the 25-targets available till then.
With a score of 623.0 over 60 shots, Parikshit Singh Brar emerged as the top Indian finisher in the junior men’s 50m rifle prone competition. 14th place went to Shivendra Bahadur Singh (618.4), while 24th place went to Vedant Nitin Waghmare (613.2).
