India’s First Look at the Vivo V40 Series: What to Expect

Tomorrow, August 7, Vivo will introduce the Vivo V40 and Vivo V40 Pro smartphones. The brand’s previous V30 series was replaced with the V40 series. Prior to the unveiling, Vivo has already made a number of the smartphone’s specifications public. More significantly, Zeiss compatibility will be available this time for the V40 and V40 Pro. Zeiss branding was only on the V30 Pro before.

Vivo V40 Series: Anticipated Cost

The pricing range of the incoming smartphones in the nation has not yet been confirmed by Vivo. Nonetheless, it is anticipated that the smartphones will cost between Rs 35,000 and Rs 40,000 for the base model and more than Rs 40,000 for the Pro version. Flipkart and the Vivo India e-Store are confirmed to carry the Vivo V40 series.

Vivo V40 Series: Design

The devices will have a ring LED flash on the back and an oval-shaped camera module. The Pro model will feature three cameras on the back, whereas the V40 will only have two. Indeed, both will display the Zeiss trademark.

Lotus Purple, Ganges Blue, and Titanium Grey are the available colours for the Vivo V40; Ganges Blue and Titanium Grey are the available colours for the Pro variant.

Vivo V40 Series: Display

A curved AMOLED screen with a central punch-hole cutout and low bezels will be featured on both phones. A 6.78-inch curved display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a resolution of 1260 x 2800 pixels, a peak brightness of 4500 nits, and an in-display fingerprint scanner is anticipated for the V40 series devices.

Vivo V40 Series: Performance and Software

The chipsets of the future smartphones in the nation have not yet been confirmed by Vivo. Nevertheless, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC and up to 12GB of RAM were features of the vanilla Vivo V40 when it was released in international countries.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ is anticipated to power the Vivo V40 Pro, in comparison. Additionally, Funtouch OS 14, which is based on Android 14, will run on both smartphones.

Vivo V40 Series: Cameras

The 50MP Sony IMX921 primary camera with OIS, the 50MP Sony IMX816 telephoto portrait camera with 2x optical and 50X ZEISS Hyper Zoom, and the 50MP ultrawide angle camera with 119 field of view will all be featured on the Vivo V40 Pro.
