The all-new Toyota Camry, which was worldwide unveiled in late 2023, has major improvements in terms of style, colours, interior, safety features, and hybrid drivetrain.
New Design
Toyota’s new design language gives the new-generation Camry a whole fresh appearance. Sharp cuts and creases, a dropped roofline, a long front overhang, a low-slung posture, and a redesigned “hammerhead”-shaped front that is complemented by a big grille are all features of this vehicle. It has new C-shaped taillights and slimmer LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs. Depending on the trim, wheel sizes range from 18 to 19 inches; the India-spec variant is anticipated to have 19-inch units. With the ninth-generation Camry, Toyota unveiled two new colours: Heavy Metal and Ocean Gem.
Tech-laden Cabin
A variety of interior colour schemes and unique upholstery and trim options, such as leather and micro-fiber materials, are available inside the brand-new cabin. Boulder, or black, Cockpit Red, and Light Grey are the interior colour schemes.
Safety & Features
A 10-inch heads-up display, a panoramic sunroof, telematics, linked car technology, dual-zone air conditioning, and heated/ventilated seats with memory and power features are all features of the international-spec ninth-generation Camry. A 9-speaker JBL sound system, five front and back USB outlets, a wireless charging pad, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are all included. The most recent ADAS technologies, such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, lane keeping assistance, and a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, are also included in the new generation Camry.
Updated Hybrid Powertrain
Toyota’s fifth generation hybrid system, which consists of a new battery, two new electric motors, and redesigned parts, powers the 2019 Camry’s revised 2.5-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine. With all-wheel drive (AWD), its total output is 232 PS. A front-wheel-drive (FWD) version of the new Camry with a lower power output of 225 PS is also available.
Expected Price & Rivals
The incoming new Toyota Camry is expected to command a higher premium, with a new price of approximately 50 lakh (ex-showroom), whereas the outgoing model was priced at Rs 46.17 lakh (ex-showroom).
