The Jackson Symphony Orchestra picked “rejoice” to describe its re-visitation of live music after a COVID-19 rest.
As the symphony looks forward to finishing its silence this fall, the 2021-22 signature series is named “Rejoice: Reuniting Through the Joy of Music.”
Season tickets are presently on sale for the classical signature series and the non-classical Music On Tap concerts. They each start in October.
Music Director Matthew Aubin has made five concerts that will pair composers like Beethoven and Brahms with music by a few female authors and writers of shading.
The ensemble has likewise dispatched Jackson High School graduate Marcus Norris to compose new works for the orchestra.
On the non-classical side, Across the Genres with Warp Trio will start off Music On Tap with its contemporary traditional and rock combinations. The Music On Tap series will likewise include Michigan-based artist musician Joshua Davis, who was a finalist on well known ability TV program The Voice.

“It felt like we had one foot pressing down on the gas and one foot pressing down on the brake all the time,” Trosin said. “We were always preparing for the event that was supposed to happen next and holding out a glimmer of hope that it could happen, then all that work went out the window.”
Season tickets are at a bargain now at a discounted cost. Tickets for singular shows will go marked down Sept. 1.
