At the LA Auto Show, Kia debuted their newest electric car (EV), the powerful 2025 EV9 GT.
The car promises more power and a sportier driving experience as an improved version of Kia’s three-row SUV.
The 2024 model’s 379 horsepower was significantly surpassed by the new GT trim’s 500 horsepower. It takes 4.3 seconds to accelerate from zero to 96 km/h.
The EV9 GT is referred to by the business as “the most powerful” three-row SUV it has ever manufactured.
EV9 GT Features Advanced Suspension and Virtual Gear Shifting
The EV9 GT is the first Kia vehicle to use an electronically controlled suspension system and has two motors.
This advanced feature allows for smooth handling that can be changed based on the drive mode.
Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a virtual gear shifting system that mimics the sound of an artificial engine and the feel of a traditional step-shift automatic transmission.
EV9 GT’s Design and Charging Capabilities
High-performance Continental tires, unique 21-inch alloy wheels, and neon green brake callipers are just a few of the visual enhancements that the updated EV9 GT receives.
Interestingly, the 2025 model will have a native Tesla/North American Charging System (NACS) connector, making it the first Kia EV to do so. All 15,000 Supercharger stations will be accessible as a result, negating the need for an adapter.
Kia also introduces updated 2025 EV6 crossover
Kia also debuted an upgraded 2025 EV6 crossover in addition to the EV9 GT.
A bigger battery will be included with this model for increased capacity and range.
To improve compatibility with Tesla Superchargers, the EV6’s charging connector has been repositioned to the left rear fender.
Next year, the business plans to begin selling adapters to current EV owners.
The 2025 EV6 will come with a standard 63kWh battery, which is an improvement above the 58kWh pack found in the previous generation.
EV9 GT to offer a Range of about 600km
Kia has not yet disclosed precise information regarding the EV9 GT’s battery range or capacity.
Nonetheless, it is hypothesised that the car may make use of the 110.3-kWh battery pack that was unveiled with the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9.
With an estimated 620 kilometres of driving range, this cutting-edge battery is a serious competitor in the market for electric SUVs.
