Mahindra & Mahindra is getting ready to introduce its eagerly anticipated Thar Roxx SUV to the Indian market as the country gets ready to celebrate its 78th Independence Day. This new SUV is basically a five-door variant of the well-known lifestyle SUV Thar, which has long been a favourite among auto aficionados as it has transitioned from one generation to the next. This version of the SUV makes it considerably more useful. For more than two years, the car has been put through testing by the brand to hone these attributes. They raised suspense before the unveiling by disclosing tidbits about the SUV.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: Design
The Mahindra Thar Roxx will have a front fascia that is similar to the three-door model of the car, according to the manufacturer’s image. This comprises a headlamp cluster and a new vertical slat grille matched with circular LED DRLs. The SUV has a strong dual-tone bumper that combines black and silver to further add to its unique look. The fog lamps in the corners of this bumper are likewise housed there. The car has large wheel arches with LED indicators to go along with this.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: Features
An innovative completely digital instrument cluster will be included with the Mahindra Thar Roxx. It is more convenient for the driver because it provides a plethora of vital information about the car. The driver can also customise the cluster’s arrangement to suit their tastes. Next, it is anticipated that the SUV would have two sunroofs, one of which will have twin panes. The SUV will include features like rear AC vents, push-button start, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, and more for the driver’s comfort. The SUV will include ADAS Level 2 features and six airbags for safety.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: Platform
The most recent iteration of the 3G platform, which the company uses for the Scorpio N, supports the metal body of the Mahindra Thar Roxx. According to reports, this upgraded platform weighs 40 kg less than its predecessor. The SUV will also have a solid metal roof installed. According to insider information, the body will be made of high-strength steel, and some parts, like the pillar, will be stronger than in the manufacturer’s prior models.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: Powertrain
Both diesel and petrol engine options will be available for the Mahindra Thar Roxx. The brand’s 2.2-liter mHawk Gen2 diesel engine will provide power to the SUV. Standard models of this engine are expected to produce 150 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, while higher-end models will produce 172 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. A 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and a 6-speed manual gearbox will be mated to the engine.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine in the Thar Roxx will be the same engine as the Scorpio N and XUV700. This engine produces 160 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque in the base model; higher trim levels will have an output of 175 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: Expected Price
Tomorrow, the Mahindra Thar Roxx’s price will be revealed. The base form of the Thar Roxx is anticipated to start around Rs 15–15.50 lakh (ex-showroom) based on the outgoing Thar.
