Mahindra, the massive Indian SUV manufacturer, is preparing to dominate the electric car market in India. The company is developing its Born Electric (BE) lineup of SUVs in order to meet this need.
Mahindra BE.05: Insane 0-100 Kmph
The forthcoming BE.05 electric SUV from Mahindra will come with three different drivetrain options. One All-Wheel Drive (AWD) model and two Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) models will be available. The AWD version is said to be able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5 seconds.
Furthermore, the RWD vehicles won’t be overly sluggish. The 0-100 kmph time for the base model is 7.6 seconds. The performance RWD version, meanwhile, will finish in under six seconds.
Mahindra BE.05 Battery Packs
Both battery pack configurations for the BE.05 are being offered by the company. A 60 kWh battery pack with an anticipated range of more than 400 km will be the first. However, a larger 82 kWh battery pack with a range of about 586 kilometres will also be available.
Based on the INGLO platform, the forthcoming BE.05 and other BE SUVs will be built. Despite being created by Mahindra, several of its parts are taken from Volkswagen’s MEB architecture. Fast charging is supported by the INGLO platform, and high-speed DC charging capabilities are anticipated for the BE.05 as well.
Mahindra BE.05 Design Details
This car has a highly futuristic appearance. Recent test mules have revealed that the impending BE.05 virtually exactly resembles the brand’s idea. Its exterior is incredibly elegant and modern. It is anticipated that the SUV would be available from the manufacturer with enormous 20-inch wheels.
Its interior will have a very sophisticated cockpit-style arrangement. It will have a large central touchscreen, a head-up display, a large digital instrument gauge cluster, and all the safety and connection capabilities, such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
Mahindra BE.05 Launch Timeline and Pricing
The business has not yet disclosed the precise launch date for the BE.05. Nonetheless, the model will probably be released by November of this year. As mentioned, this model may start to be delivered in 2025. As for the pricing, it is thought that the BE.05 could be offered in the price range of Rs 20-25 lakh.
Mahindra BE.05 Rivals
A crucial aspect of the BE.05 is that the manufacturer is comparing it to well-known electric vehicles outside of India in addition to focussing on Indian autos. Mahindra intends to take on the Volvo C40, Tesla Model Y, and Volkswagen ID.5. It will compete with the Tata Harrier EV, Maruti Suzuki eVX, and Hyundai Creta EV in the Indian auto market.
