Next to the ZS EV and Comet EV, MG Motor India is getting ready to launch its third electric vehicle. The MG Cloud EV is most likely the name of the upcoming electric vehicle. It will be built around the Wuling Cloud electric MPV, which is presently offered for purchase in Indonesia. The electric car will get some modifications unique to India along with a new label—MG. By year’s end, MG plans to introduce this Cloud EV to the Indian market.
MG Cloud EV: Price
At the moment, MG India offers two electric vehicles. The ZS EV is part of their premium product range, with prices starting at Rs 18.98 lakh and going up to Rs 23.43 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Comet EV is the most cheap, costing between Rs 6.98 lakh and Rs 9.36 lakh.
Somewhere between the Comet and ZS will be the location of the future MG Cloud EV.
MG Cloud EV: Battery, Range
There are two battery packs available for the Cloud EV worldwide: 37.9 kWh and 50.6 kWh. The larger battery pack has a maximum range of 460 km, while the smaller one has a range of 360 km. However, MG has not yet announced which battery will be available for the Indian market.
Based on the China Light Duty Vehicle Test Cycle, the previously indicated range is claimed by CLTC. To satisfy the requirements of the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), the Indian model is anticipated to provide a distinct range.
Expected Launch Timeline, Rivals
One of these will be the MG Cloud EV, which is anticipated to be introduced during the holiday season of 2024. The 5-seater EV will be a high-end substitute for the Mahindra XUV400 and Tata Nexon EV when it launches.
