MG Motor’s Electric Vehicle (EV) Strategy: New Projects Unveiled in India Prior to Windsor Launch

eHUB App

An iOS and Android software called eHUB can be used to find charging stations. To give users access to the whole charging network throughout the nation, MG has worked with businesses including Adani Total Energies Limited (ATEL), BPCL, Chargezone, Glida, HPCL, Jio-BP, Shell, Statiq, and Zeon. With the help of this software, electric vehicle drivers may not only find charging stations but also schedule their travels according to the presence of chargers along the way. Additionally, the app shows whether the charger is working and if a slot is available at the chosen location. Furthermore, customers can utilise the eHUB app to directly book a time slot and make payments.

Project REVIVE

One of the priciest and most important parts of an electric vehicle is its battery pack. These batteries have multiple uses, such as energy storage systems, and may be recycled. For Project REVIVE, MG has worked with LOHUM and the Energy and Resources Institute of India. Batteries are repurposed under this concept to function as energy storage devices for solar energy applications. This program assists in supplying the nation’s rural and urban communities with the electricity they require. Project REVIVE lessens the trash that lithium batteries, which may pose environmental risks, produce.

MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform (MG-Jio ICP)

Additionally, MG and Jio have worked together to launch the Innovative Connectivity Program (ICP), MG’s new connected automobile technology. Future MG EVs will include this feature, beginning with the Windsor EV that will be released soon. The connection platform will serve as the infotainment and entertainment system’s operating system in cars. Customers will be able to access a variety of OTT apps, games, and voice recognition technologies driven by artificial intelligence through its own MG store. Eleven different Indian languages will be supported by this voice recognition system.

Additionally, this linked automobile technology has a Home-To-automobile capability that enables your Jio Fibre TV to synchronise with your car’s infotainment system. This enables you to see all of the vehicle’s data on the TV screen, including the battery percentage and TPMS.

EVPEDIA

An educational website devoted to electric vehicles and their technologies is called EVPEDIA. EVPEDIA offers useful resources like cost-of-ownership calculators, a repository of government laws, and an assortment of publications and research papers in addition to EV education. By means of interactive displays, instructive videos, and live demonstrations, EVPEDIA facilitates users’ exploration of electric vehicle technologies.

These were the four significant EV projects that MG Motor introduced in India. According to MG, these programs will assist clients in overcoming current obstacles and learning more about the newest technological advancements. The Comet EV and the ZS EV are the two electric vehicles that MG currently sells in India; the MG Windsor EV, a third vehicle, is presently under development.
