Real Madrid vs. FC Barcelona: Expected Lineups and Key Team Info for Super Cup Final

For the third consecutive year, Real Madrid will play FC Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final. The Blancos are hoping to win the third title of the season in order to qualify for both the FIFA Intercontinental Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.

Adding to the trophy they won last year, when they defeated FC Barcelona 4-1 in the final with a hat-trick from Vinícius Júnior as payback for a 3-1 loss to the Catalans, will be the next challenge: winning the 14th Spanish Super Cup.

The King Abdullah Sports City Stadium will host this year’s final on Sunday, January 12 at 10:00 p.m. AST local time, or 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time. In addition to each club bringing a few hundred supporters from Spain, it will welcome supporters of both teams, the great majority of whom will be locals from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Real Madrid has won all three of the previous meetings between the two clubs with Jesús Gil Manzano in the middle. He will officiate the game, which will be his fourth Clásico. Each of them has participated in league competition.

Team news for Real Madrid vs. FC Barcelona
Four injury uncertainties are expected to be ready to start Sunday night’s match against FC Barcelona in Jeddah as Real Madrid looks to recover from a string of ailments ahead of the Spanish Super Cup final.

In the semi-final, English star Jude Bellingham looked to be limping at the end of the ninety minutes, and Fede Valverde was substituted out due to a muscular injury. The statement “Bellingham and Valvede were overloaded” by Carlo Ancelotti, however, downplayed the worries.

Aurélien Tchouameni was the other player who was forced off on Thursday night. Due to a head injury, the Frenchman was replaced right away. “Tchouameni looked good on the bench,” Ancelotti said after the game, expressing optimism regarding his availability for the championship match. Since it was a strike to the head, the doctor preferred to remove him from the field.

Although he hasn’t been training much since recovering from a virus that kept him out of Thursday’s semi-final match against Mallorca, Luka Modrić is also expected to be fit.

Real Madrid vs. FC Barcelona expected lineup
Thibaut Courtois, Lucas Vázquez, Aurélien Tchouameni, Antonio Rüdiger, Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga, Fede Valverde, Jude Bellingham, Vinícius Júnior, Kylian Mbappé, and Rodrygo Goes are the anticipated starting lineup for Real Madrid against. FC Barcelona (4-3-3).

It appears that Carlo Ancelotti will stick with the starting lineup from the team that defeated Mallorca in Thursday night’s semi-final in Jeddah. All of his alternatives are healthy and prepared to play despite the injury scares.

One potential alteration would be the club captain Luka Modrić, who was left off the squad list for the match against Mallorca due to illness earlier in the week, returning to the bench. Dani Ceballos, Brahim Díaz, and Arda Güler are midfield options who could join him on the bench.
