Today, September 2, Tata Motors is all ready to introduce the Curvv coupe-SUV’s internal combustion engine (ICE) version in India. On August 7, the coupe-SUV and its all-electric equivalent were completely unveiled.
In terms of appearance, the Curvv ICE keeps the majority of the Curvv EV’s stylistic cues while adding a few unique features. A reworked central air dam, a modified alloy wheel design, and a contrast black-finished panel spanning between the width of the upper fascia are the most noticeable changes. The huge free-standing central touchscreen, touch-sensitive air conditioning controls, four-spoke steering with an illuminated Tata logo, and a digital instrument cluster are all shared by the Curvv EV and the car in general.
The top versions will have an extensive feature list that includes a 9.-speaker JBL audio system, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster (both made by Harman), ambient lighting, auto climate control, a powered tailgate with gesture control, a wireless charger and an integrated air purifier. A 360-degree surround-view system, a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, and ventilated front seats are additional noteworthy features.
Tata’s new 1.2-liter “Hyperion” turbo-petrol gasoline direct injection engine makes its premiere in the SUV. The engine produces a maximum torque of 225 Nm and 124 horsepower. It will be available with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCA). There will also be the well-known 1.2-liter “Revotron” turbo-petrol engine—which produces 118 horsepower and 170 Nm—that powers the Nexon. There will be a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCA available for this machine as well.
Now for the diesel: the 1.5-liter turbodiesel engine from the Nexon will be mated to the ICE Curvv. With a top output of 116 horsepower and 260 Nm, the unit will be available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCA gearbox. It’s interesting to note that this is the first diesel engine from Tata that comes with a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Prices for the petrol and diesel versions of Tata’s Curvv coupe-SUV will be revealed today.
There will be four Personas available for the Tata Curvv ICE: Smart, Pure, Creative, and Accomplished.
The top versions will have an extensive feature list that includes a 9.-speaker JBL audio system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster (both made by Harman), and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
