Taylor Swift’s jewel-adorned MTV’s Europe Music Awards look was inspired by the late Queen Elizabeth II
Taylor Swift showed up at MTV’s Europe Music Awards last night in Düsseldorf, Germany in an evening gown that flipped the scripts on red carpet jewelry.
With her decolletage and wrists left completely exposed, Swift decided on only a few silver rings and a spiral of studded ear cuffs on every ear — however her outfit was a long way from ailing in adornments. Rather than the conventional smatterings of jewels, Swift stepped out in a cascading midi skirt made totally from a sparkling net of handmade silver and green crystals.
The custom David Koma look, a nod to the designer’s Fall-Winter 2023 collection, was matched with a black spaghetti-strap body and open toed sling-backs. The skirt’s emerald-toned jewels were inspired by the late Queen Elizabeth II’s own emerald collection, as indicated by a representative the label.
Away from red carpet, Swift became the evening’s top winning artist, gathering up four awards including Best Artist, Best Video, Best Pop and Best Longform Video for “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version).”
The pop star wore a second David Koma hope to acknowledge the honors in front of an audience: A black and silver crystalized polo-shirt dress acted as the perfect backdrop to her armful of silver MTV trophies.
