Tecno Camon 30S Pro to Be the First to Use the Officially Detailed MediaTek Helio G100 SoC

It has been some time since MediaTek added a new processor to its Helio lineup, but today the chipmaker announced the MediaTek Helio G100, the series’ first new model. Although the chip is virtually the same as the Helio G99, it has different optics, supporting up to 200MP cameras as opposed to the Helio G99’s 108MP sensor compatibility.

MediaTek Helio G100: Specifications

The MediaTek Helio G100 is an octa-core CPU with two 2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 units, developed on TSMC’s 6nm technology. The maximum display resolution supported is 2,520 x 1,080 pixels operating at a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It also supports LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. The Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU manages graphics.

The Helio G100 has undergone a significant improvement in the camera department, as it can now accommodate up to 200MP single cameras. In addition, it supports 32 MP video recording at 30 frames per second with dual 16 + 16 MP sensors. 4X4 MIMO, 2CC CA, 256QAM, TAS 2.0, HPUE, IMS (VoLTE\ViLTE\WoWi-Fi), eMBMS, Dual 4G VoLTE (DSDS), Band 71, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth v5.2 are among the connectivity options supported.

GPS, QZSS L1+ L5, Galileo E1 + E5a, BeiDou B1C + B2a, and NAVIC are among the protocols supported by the chip. The MediaTek Helio G100 also includes a feature called “Elevator Mode,” stating that to quickly re-establish cellular service after leaving areas devoid of coverage, such as lifts or tunnels.
