A brief update regarding the Cybertruck’s Powershare feature rollout has been published by Tesla. Among other things, Tesla’s update discusses the anticipated Powershare rollout date for households with Tesla Powerwall home batteries and the feature’s debut for solar-powered homes.
According to Tesla’s official website, Powershare technology enables the Cybertruck battery to supply electricity via its charge connector or onboard outlets. The Cybertruck would be able to sustain homes during power outages, charge other electric cars, and power electronic devices if Powershare was activated.
According to Tesla’s official Cybertruck account, it could take up to a week for the Cybertruck’s Powershare to be enabled. By the end of the year, Powershare will be available to consumers with solar panels installed in their homes. Customers who have had Tesla’s Backup Switch installed in their houses by an authorised utility are similarly covered. Finally, in 2025, Powershare should be activated for Powerwall owners.
Powershare has been well praised for its capacity to meet a home’s energy needs during power outages. On its official website, Tesla emphasised the potential of the functionality, claiming that the Cybertruck’s Powershare capability could provide houses with enough electricity for days.
“With Powershare, your Cybertruck can automatically provide backup power to your home with up to 11.5 kW of power for up to three days. Powershare Home Backup can detect an outage and start providing power within one minute without noise, emissions, or maintenance,” Tesla wrote.
One of the Cybertruck’s most well-liked features is Powershare. This is due to Powershare, which enables the Cybertruck to use built-in power outlets to power tools or electrical gadgets. Additionally, by connecting to the 240 V cargo bed outlet of the all-electric pickup truck, the Cybertruck may use up to 9.6 kW of power to charge other electric cars.
