The new KLX 230 dual-sport motorcycle, which retails for 3.30 lakh (ex-showroom), was introduced by India Kawasaki Motors (IKM). When the locally built Kawasaki KLX 230 was introduced in October of this year, reservations were accepted for a nominal fee of ₹5,000. Delivery of the new dual sport product is anticipated to start in 2025.

2025 Kawasaki KLX 230: Design
The Kawasaki KLX 230 has a stubby tail section, a flat seat, a compact 7.6-liter petrol tank, and a high-mounted mudguard. The kerb weight is a light 139 kg, and the seat height is a tall 880 mm. However, for shorter riders, Kawasaki India will provide a lower seat option. Battle Grey and Lime Green are the two colour options for the dual-sport offering.

A 6-speed transmission and a 233 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled motor rated for 18.3 Nm at 6,400 rpm and 18.1 horsepower at 8,000 rpm power the Kawasaki KLX 230. The bike’s suspension is provided by 37 mm telescopic front forks with 240 mm of travel and a preload adjustable link-type monoshock with 250 mm of travel at the back. The frame is made of tubular steel. The India-spec KLX 230 is equipped with MRF tires on spoked wheels that are 21 inches in front and 18 inches in back. There is 265 mm of ground clearance. A 265 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc provide braking power. Additionally, the bike has switchable ABS.
