Popular amusement parks and other local businesses are being damaged as fast-moving brush fires ravage portions of Southern California.
Due to fire conditions, Universal Studios declared on Wednesday that both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk in California would be closed for the day.
“We anticipate opening for business tomorrow and will keep an eye on the situation. “Our first concern is the safety of our employees and visitors,” Universal Studios stated in a statement on X.
In the foothills of Pacific Palisades, a community along the coast of Los Angeles, firefighters are fighting a fire. Mandatory evacuations were ordered when another brush fire broke out in the Eaton Canyon region near Altadena in the evening. The Hurst Fire then broke out in the Sylmar region late on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday morning, there were no fires burning close to Universal City. Firefighters swiftly put out a spectacular brush fire that broke out in the Hollywood Hills on Tuesday afternoon.
Are the fires in Los Angeles having an effect on Disneyland?
As a result of the fires, Disneyland has not declared any closures.
About 50 miles south of the Pacific Palisades, in Anaheim, is the Disneyland Resort region, which comprises both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park.
Have fires forced the closure of other California theme parks?
Other theme parks in the state, such as Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park and Six Flags Magic Mountain in Santa Clarita, have not yet declared closures or delays as a result of the flames.
