Users Of The Apple iPhone 15 Pro Complain That The Phone Can Get Too Hot

A potential drawback for the company’s flagship product is that some of the new iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max first owners are claiming that the smartphones become too warm while in use or when charging.

The complaints have spread throughout social media platforms and online forums for Apple, including Reddit and X. Customers claim that when playing games, making phone calls, or using FaceTime for video chats, the back or side of the phone gets hot to the touch. The problem is more noticeable for certain users when the smartphone is plugged in to charge.

Also taking calls about the problem are members of Apple technical support. Customers who have an iPhone that feels too hot or cold have been sent to an outdated help article. According to the warning, overheating may happen when running power-hungry apps, charging a smartphone, or first configuring a new gadget.

Requests for comment from an Apple official in Cupertino, California went unanswered.

About half of Apple’s revenue comes from the iPhone, so new models are carefully examined for any potential problems. Sometimes issues arise that need to be resolved by Apple through software upgrades or other patches, although the issues frequently go away on their own.

A thorough testing procedure is also in place at Apple to identify any flaws before the iPhone is put into production on a large scale.

Given the powerful CPUs that modern technology uses, it is not unusual for devices to become warm. This time, the question is if the heat issue continues and gets worse than what people consider tolerable.

The iPhone setup procedure can be the root of the problem or make it worse. Re-downloading all of a user’s apps, data, and images from iCloud when they buy a new phone can be a time-consuming and resource-intensive process. Some users assert that they think certain background-running applications, such as Instagram or Uber, may potentially be to blame for the problem.

Videos of several people using thermometers to monitor the temperature of their phones have been posted online. The “iPhone 15 Pro Max gets really hot easily,” according to one post. It’s burning up when I’m simply perusing social media. Another person said that they could feel the heat of the device through the carrying cover.

But not everyone has this problem. Other iPhone 15 Pro owners have reported that they aren’t having the issue or that the heat level is typical of earlier models. Placing the iPhone in a case, at least for some users, prevented the gadget from feeling warm to the touch.

One customer reported that it took several minutes for the iPhone 15 Pro Max to turn back on after being hot enough to shut off during a call. The occasional overheating or prolonged exposure to the sun will cause Apple devices to turn off

An upgraded graphics engine is part of the new A17 chip found in the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. That element, which is designed to enhance game performance, might have a role. The stainless-steel frame of the most recent iPhone models has been replaced with a titanium one.

The problem follows consumer complaints regarding the FineWoven fabric used in the most recent iPhone 15 cases. Some users have complained that the fabric, which replaces leather as part of Apple’s environmental campaign, is more prone to scratches and dirt accumulation.
