Wayne Osmond Passes Away at 73; Cause of Death Announced

Known for his part in the famous Osmond family, Wayne Osmond died at the age of 73.

When Andy Williams’ father discovered the Osmonds performing at Disneyland, their career took off. They started appearing frequently on “The Andy Williams Show” in the 1960s, and they went on to do a lot of touring throughout Europe. The band eventually split up as each member pursued a career in solo music.

Most famous for being the brother of Marie and Donny Osmond, who were stars of the 1970s variety show “Donny & Marie,” Wayne Osmond passed away on New Year’s Day, according to a heartfelt statement from his family.

According to the family’s statement, which local ABC affiliate KTVX was able to receive, “Wayne Osmond, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully last night surrounded by his loving wife and five children.”

Wayne, who is renowned for his skill as a songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist, was instrumental in establishing the group’s sound.

Wayne helped write songs including “One Bad Apple,” “Crazy Horses,” and “Love Me for a Reason” while he was a member of The Osmonds. From barbershop harmony to pop-rock superstars, the group even made their television debut with programs like “The Donny & Marie Show” and “The Osmond Family Show,” which were shot in Orem, Utah.

Wayne played in the well-known barbershop group The Osmonds with his brothers Alan, Merrill, Jay, Donny, and Jimmy. Wayne was born in Ogden, Utah, in 1951. According to IMDb, he and his wife, Kathlyn Louise White, had five children.

Wayne, a Utah native, was the fourth of the nine Osmond children and the second oldest of the original Osmond Brothers singing group.

The first of the Osmond siblings to die was Wayne Osmond. Wayne married Kathlyn White, a former Miss Utah, in 1974, and the two of them had five kids.
