Google Lens is now integrated into the search bar of YouTube’s Android app, thanks to a new feature.
Users may now perform visual searches straight from the full-screen search page thanks to this integration.
Between the microphone and the search bar in the upper-right corner is where you can find the Google Lens symbol.
When it is chosen, Google Lens opens with the well-known camera interface, allowing users to highlight text and identify items using optical character recognition (OCR).
How does it work?
With the new function, users may snap a photo of an object and use Google Lens to look up relevant YouTube videos.
An image of an iPhone 13 Mini, for example, produced a “Search YouTube” carousel.
By clicking on a result, viewers can easily access videos linked to their visual searches on YouTube by entering that query.
You may also use the same image to conduct a more comprehensive “Search on Google”.
Google’s aim for visual search expansion
As part of its plan to enhance visual search capabilities, Google has integrated Google Lens into the search bar on YouTube.
Beyond standard text and voice searches, the internet giant wants to provide people additional options for finding information.
This action highlights Google’s dedication to improving user experience through the integration of cutting-edge technologies into its products.
All devices connected to the same account can presently use the feature, though a wider rollout has not yet been announced.
